Welcome to the next generation of maths assessment.
Our revolutionary new adaptive tests identify what your learners don't know and why, finding and fixing gaps in their conceptual understanding. And it's fully funded to transform maths learning for every student, so it's free to use for schools and colleges in England.
We've drawn on over two years of research with input from leading subject experts to develop this game changing maths assessment, designed to focus on the concepts that deliver the most impacts on GCSE success. We've run extensive tests with hundreds of students to make sure the assessment is both valid and reliable.
Students told us that they find the tests useful and engaging and can see how it will help them in their studies. While teachers love the detailed reporting. The assessment includes five 20 minute tests focused on the key areas to GCSE level study. They'll help you see how ready your students are to begin GCSE study, plan your teaching or interventions, or identify students who need more support.
Each test has around 200 to 250 questions, and in 20 minutes, students usually answer somewhere between 45 to 60 questions. Our research shows that this is the right number of questions to effectively measure their knowledge. We've written short, sharp, granular questions. Designs won't cover misconceptions, so they're not like GCSE or SATs questions, and they're designed especially for on screen.
Each test is adaptive, so it's personalised to the student. This means that as they go through the test, the system uses the responses they give to select the next question that's most appropriate for them. This is based on both whether they get the question right and their level of confidence in their answer. It also means that the tests don't need to be sat in exam conditions, as each student will be answering different questions as they go through.
Throughout the test, students can see their results, so immediately know that they've got a question right or not. Hints are also provided which students told us as a really good test experience. When they've completed the tests, students can immediately work through the questions they did and didn't get right, seeing the areas on which they need to focus.
They can then access a report on the areas they need to work on. Organised by concept. Teachers can access detailed reporting showing concept level analysis by student, class or year group. This can be used to help plan next steps in teaching, identify students for intervention or to support CPD for teachers. A student view report is ideal for one to one meetings or parents evenings.
