For summer 2024 we’ve made changes to the way you submit your non-exam assessment (NEA) coursework samples for GCSE English Spoken Language.

If you're entering students for GCSE English Language (8700) in summer 2024, you'll need to provide audio-visual recordings of the presentations of either all or a sample of your students (depending on the number of students entered). Find out more.

GCSE English Language: spoken language endorsement for November 2023

For the November 2023 spoken language exams, all schools and colleges are required to submit audio-visual recordings of the presentations of a sample of any new learners who do not currently have an endorsed grade or wish to improve their grade.

For the November 2022 series only, the same conditions applied in summer 2022 for the GCSE English Language spoken language endorsement will apply in November 2022.

GCSE English Language: spoken language endorsement (8700/C) for summer 2023

For summer 2023, the usual arrangements for NEA will be in place. This means you’ll need to submit audio-visual recordings of a sample of presentations for the assessment of the GCSE English Language spoken language endorsement.
