AQA’s head of standards and awarding appointed to Ofqual advisory group

AQA’s head of standards and awarding Will Pointer has been appointed to Ofqual’s standards advisory group.
Will joined the group this month alongside Daisy Christodoulou, director of education at No More Marking and, and Catherine Close, director of psychometrics at Renaissance Learning Inc.
As head of standards and awarding at AQA Will is responsible for ensuring that the standards of AQA’s awards are fair, defensible and command public confidence, and that AQA’s awarding process is effective, efficient and secure.
Will now brings this assessment expertise and experience to Ofqual’s advisory group. Will said of his appointment:
“I’m really excited, and honoured, to be joining Ofqual’s standards advisory group.
“I’m looking forward to contributing to the important work that Ofqual does to maintain standards in qualifications in England, and hope to bring helpful and valuable insight.”
