In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
shown knowledge of
1	how at least three different musical elements can complement each other, eg a funky bassline, a house beat and a percussion part	Summary sheet
2	how rhythmic feel, groove, pitch and dynamics can be utilised to create an effective musical piece	Summary sheet
3	at least four different health and safety issues whilst working in a music studio	Student completed work
demonstrated the ability to
4	arrange and layer together at least three different musical loops, riffs or phrases from an existing library within a music software package	Summary sheet
5	use a MIDI keyboard to record at least two rhythmic or melodic accompaniments	Summary sheet
6	edit the keyboard parts to correct any mistakes and to complement the arrangement, eg cut and paste, quantise	Summary sheet
7	cut and paste sections of the composition to develop and expand the arrangement	Summary sheet
8	assess with the tutor an initial arrangement of the track	Summary sheet
9	choose an appropriate tempo for the track in beats per minute	Summary sheet
