122098 CREATING AN ITEM USING JESMONITE

In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
shown knowledge of
1	the key elements jesmonite consists of and at least two things that it can be used for	Summary sheet
demonstrated the ability to
2	assemble all the required materials	Summary sheet
3	weigh out the correct amounts of powder and liquid	Summary sheet
4	combine the powder and liquid and stir to form a smooth paste	Summary sheet
5	add the chosen colour pigment or pigments	Summary sheet
6	pour approximately half of the mixture into the chosen silicon mould	Summary sheet
7	tap and bang the mould to release any air bubbles	Summary sheet
8	pour the remaining mixture into the mould and repeat the tap and bang	Summary sheet
9	leave until everything is firmly set	Summary sheet
10	carefully remove the mould	Summary sheet
11	finish the item with chosen sealing product, eg coconut oil, wax	Summary sheet
experienced
