In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	identify the thread on the vehicle	Summary sheet
2	drill out the old thread	Summary sheet
3	use the tap to make a new thread, working slowly and always straight and after every turn clockwise, turning half a turn anti-clock wise	Summary sheet
4	put the insert into the helicoil twisting tool, making sure the tang sits in the tool's slot so that the tang is at the bottom when the insert is screwed in	Summary sheet
5	screw the insert in	Summary sheet
6	achieve the correct-sized tap and give one firm tap to remove the tang.	Summary sheet
