1design a pewter accessory following information given in a design briefSummary sheet and/or student completed work
2make a suitable mould using 3D printing, sand, medium-density fibreboard (MDF) or air drying claySummary sheet
3follow the main health and safety guidelines to prepare their mould and work area for castingSummary sheet
4place the mould hole under the pouring spout beneath the melting pot on a heatproof matSummary sheet
5wear the appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with molten metalSummary sheet
6pour the metal into the mould until the approach hole is fullSummary sheet
7remove the mould when the cast metal is setSummary sheet
8file and sand any burrs or rough edges to clean up the castSummary sheet and/or student completed work
9clean and tidy the working area.Summary sheet
