In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	research the correct thermostat opening temperature for the car	Summary sheet
2	boil a kettle and carefully pour the boiling water into an appropriate heat-resistant receptacle	Summary sheet
3	use long nose pliers to place the thermostat in the hot water	Summary sheet
4	use a thermometer to test the temperature of the water	Summary sheet
5	check that the thermostat has opened	Summary sheet
6	monitor the water temperature and check that the thermostat closes as it falls below the correct thermostat opening temperature.	Summary sheet
