121206 CHANGING THE DRINKING WATER OF MULTIPLE ANIMALS INDEPENDENTLY

In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	safely enter the animal enclosure on at least one occasion	Summary sheet
2	locate the drinking container of the animal and identify whether the water and the container are clean or dirty	Summary sheet
3	check the structural integrity of the container and identify if it has leaked or been spilt	Summary sheet
4	pick up the container, safely and securely exit the enclosure and move to the designated emptying area	Summary sheet
5	empty and clean the container	Summary sheet
6	locate and operate the stopcock and the hose pipe or watering can, direct the water into the bucket, fill it to a designated level and turn off the water supply using the stopcock, if using one	Summary sheet
7	pick up and carry the drinking bucket back to its original position, entering the enclosure safely and securely	Summary sheet
8	exit the animal enclosure and ensure it is secure	Summary sheet
9	repeat the steps with at least three animals before reporting back to the supervisor	Summary sheet

10	working in close proximity to an animal safely and independently whilst using a walkie-talkie on at least one occasion	Summary sheet
