121205 CHANGING THE DRINKING WATER OF AN ANIMAL INDEPENDENTLY

In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	safely and securely enter the animal enclosure on at least one occasion	Summary sheet
2	locate the drinking container of the animal and identify whether the water and the container are clean or dirty	Summary sheet
3	pick up the container, safely and securely exit the enclosure and move to the designated emptying area	Summary sheet
4	empty and clean the container	Summary sheet
5	locate and operate the stopcock and the hose pipe or watering can, direct the water into the bucket, fill it to a designated level and turn off the water supply using the stopcock, if using one	Summary sheet
6	pick up and carry the drinking bucket back to its original position, entering the enclosure safely and securely	Summary sheet
7	exit the animal enclosure and ensure it is secure	Summary sheet
8	report back to the supervisor on at least one occasion	Summary sheet
experienced
9	working in close proximity to an animal on at least one occasion	Summary sheet
10	using a walkie-talkie on at least one occasion	Summary sheet
