In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed

1	read a 19th century non-fiction text of approximately 500 words	Summary sheet

3	identify the difference between a writer's ideas or attitudes, their viewpoint or perspective, and their experience	Student completed work
4	identify the viewpoint or perspective of the writers of the two texts read	Student completed work
5	find evidence in the form of quotations from both texts which show the viewpoint or perspective of the writers	Student completed work
6	identify the methods the writers have used in the selected quotations	Student completed work
7	identify similarities and/or differences in the viewpoints or perspectives in the two texts read	Student completed work
8	write at least one paragraph in which a clear comparison is made between the viewpoints or perspectives in both texts read, supported with relevant quotations, and the methods used by the writers are identified.	Student completed work
