In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
shown knowledge of
1	at least three pieces of advice regarding looking for a reputable piercing studio, eg read reviews, ask for recommendations, ask about the hygiene practices	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2	at least three factors which need to be considered when choosing a piercing on their body, eg pain level, healing time and potential impact on lifestyle or work commitments	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3	the importance of choosing a high quality material, eg titanium, gold or surgical steel	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
4	what to expect during the piercing process	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
5	what to do after the piercing is finished	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
6	why the aftercare once the piercing is done is important, eg to avoid infection, allergic reactions, keloids or migration of the jewellery.	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
