In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
shown knowledge of
1	how different sized crochet hooks relate to the choice of wool and size of stitch	Summary sheet
demonstrated the ability to
2	research and choose an appropriate design or pattern for an item of clothing	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3	select an appropriate crochet hook and wool for their chosen project	Summary sheet
4	start work using either the magic ring or chain-and-slip-stitch-to-join technique for a Granny square piece or a foundation chain for straight crochet work	Summary sheet
5	continue working in rounds or rows to create separate pieces, eg arms, back and front, to combine into a completed shape	Summary sheet
6	check that the pieces lie flat and are square	Summary sheet
7	sew in the ends of the smaller pieces and sew or crochet them together to create the chosen shape	Summary sheet
8	create a border to neaten the work and sew in the ends to complete.	Student completed work and/or photograph(s)
