1 | choose appropriate dimensions for the canvas and mark the wood, taking the thickness into account | Summary sheet |
2 | safely saw the wood to size to give four pieces, sanding off any rough edges | Summary sheet |
3 | use pilot hole and counter sink techniques to get the wood pieces ready for assembly | Summary sheet |
4 | screw all the sides together, using clamps as required to ensure right angles at the corners | Summary sheet |
5 | cut a canvas sheet to size, allowing enough overlap to the reverse of frame | Summary sheet |
6 | use staples and a hammer to attach the first edge of the canvas to the back of the frame | Summary sheet |
7 | tuck in the corners and pull the canvas tight to the opposite side before stapling again | Summary sheet |
8 | make sure all the corners are still tucked in and staple the third side of the frame | Summary sheet |
9 | pull the canvas tight to the opposite side and attach the final edge to the frame. | Student completed work and/or photograph(s) |
