In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	read a short fairy story and identify the story structure and at least two examples of descriptive language devices, discussing the impact on the reader	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
2	read two versions of the same fairy story, identifying and discussing the main similarities and differences	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3	watch and take part in a discussion of a film adaptation of a fairy story, making comparisons with the original version of the story	Summary sheet
4	write a detailed character profile for two main characters from the texts studied	Student completed work
5	write a review of a fairy story, expressing a personal opinion and including comments on the characters, plot, themes and a modern audience's perception of the story	Student completed work
6	prepare for and then take part in a formal discussion on a key issue linked to fairy stories	Summary sheet
7	research, plan and then give a short oral presentation on a theme linked to storytelling, expressing a personal opinion.	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
