In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	use given pictures, drawings and examples to decide which mortise and tenon frame project to make	Summary sheet
2	use the drawings to select the appropriate number of wooden pieces and cut them to size from the dimensions given	Summary sheet
3	mark out for the mortise and tenon joints on each pair of pieces	Summary sheet
4	produce the four mortise and tenon joints required	Summary sheet
5	add any individual shaping to the four legs and rails	Summary sheet
6	glue and clamp the legs and rails in pairs	Summary sheet
7	assemble the pairs of legs to produce the frame	Summary sheet
8	complete the project by selecting or producing the required elements to finish it, eg table top, lantern fixings or magazine rails	Student completed work and/or photograph(s)
9	use sandpaper then varnish or wax to produce a good finish to the wood	Summary sheet
shown knowledge of
10	how to work safely with at least four named woodworking tools	Summary sheet
11	how to produce a well fitting mortise and tenon joint.	Summary sheet
