In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
shown knowledge of
1	the need to plan and check their writing is appropriate for a given audience	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
demonstrated the ability to
2	choose the most appropriate type of language and format for at least two different types of occasion	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
3	use mostly correct grammar, eg joining words, tenses and verbs, in a minimum of two pieces of writing	Student completed work
4	use a minimum of two different forms of punctuation correctly in their writing	Student completed work
5	identify at least two commonly known spelling rules.	Summary sheet and/or student completed work
