In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	adjust the volume of each separate instrument in an original music piece, using a mixing desk and software, so that the instruments complement one another to the best possible effect, with assistance where necessary	Summary sheet
2	adjust the bass and treble equaliser (EQ) of each separate channel, using the mixing desk parameters	Summary sheet
3	add at least two effects to the music piece using the given equipment, eg reverb, delay	Summary sheet
4	use 'mutes' to bring selected channels in and out of the mix	Summary sheet
5	maintain optimum meter readings and recording levels for the best possible sound reproduction, with assistance where necessary	Summary sheet
6	record the finished master to a digital format, using the digital audio workstation (DAW) to bring in or take out selected instruments or adjust the EQ and effects parameters while recording	Student completed work
