2attempt a 2D drawing or sketch to design their itemStudent completed work
3select a basic pattern for an item of clothingSummary sheet
4use dressmaking pins to safely pin the pattern to the materialPhotograph(s) and/or summary sheet
5use scissors with precision to cut out the material, following the patternSummary sheet
6thread a needle with appropriately coloured cotton threadSummary sheet
7use simple tacking stitches to sew the pieces of fabric togetherStudent completed work and/or photograph(s)
8use running stitches to hem the pieces as requiredStudent completed work and/or photograph(s)
9sew the material together in the correct places using running and over-locking stitchesPhotograph(s) and/or student completed work
