In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	research at least three jewellery box designs and select one to make	Summary sheet
2	make a card model or sketch to show dimensions	Summary sheet or student completed work
3	research at least three jointing methods and select an appropriate joint	Summary sheet
4	research joining methods for the lid, hinge or wooden insert	Summary sheet
5	mark out the joints using a steel rule, pencil, cutting knife and square	Summary sheet
6	cut the joints using a back saw, mallet and chisel	Summary sheet
7	glue the sides and ends together using sash and G clamps	Summary sheet
8	glue the top for hinging, and glue the bottom to the box	Summary sheet
9	cut the insert and attach to the lid for 'lift on and off' design	Summary sheet
10	use an edge sander and hand finish, removing any sharp corners	Summary sheet
11	apply an oil or wax finish	Summary sheet and student completed work
