3 | if applicable, measure, mark, and cut timber, use measuring equipment and bandsaw | Summary sheet |
4 | fit timber to the lathe with suitable lathe fittings. Select appropriate speed, set the tool rest height and operate the lathe | Summary sheet |
5 | turn external profile using appropriate turning chisels and turn a spigot to fit into a 4-jaw chuck | Summary sheet |
6 | safely fit to the 4-jaw chuck and turn internal profile using appropriate turning chisels | Summary sheet |
7 | use graded abrasive paper / cloth to sand smooth internal and external profiles | Summary sheet |
